  20. WELCOME TO FileNotes Version 4.1 FOR Windows 95/98

  23. Whats New in Version 4.1
  24. 1.)    Added support for removable media.  
  25.         You can now keep notes about files on 
  26.         Jazz and Zip disks with the disks.  
  27.         This way your notes can viewed from 
  28.         any machine that has FileNotes installed
  29.  
  30. 2.)    Added FileNotes Icon to the Windows 
  31.         Explorer.  You can view and search 
  32.         your notes from within the Windows 
  33.         Explorer.  This feature also lets you 
  34.         navigate to the file or folder and 
  35.         launch files.

  37. 3.)    The FileNotes Configuration Utility 
  38.         allows you to modify some of the 
  39.         settings for FileNotes.  Including 
  40.         whether or not to display the 
  41.         FileNotes Monitor icon in the system 
  42.         tray, whether or not to display    notes 
  43.         in the Windows Explorer and Explorer
  44.     Style dialogs.  The configuration 
  45.         utility    also allows you to cancel the 
  46.         automatic file extensions that some 
  47.         applications add when you save a file.  
  48.         Version 4.1 provides the option to 
  49.         specify where your notes are stored.

  54. Features
  55. --------
  56. FileNotes integrates with Windows 95/98 to
  57. allow you to keep notes about all your 
  58. files and folders.  You create and access
  59. all your notes through the Windows 95
  60. Explorer.  To access and create notes, 
  61. simply right click the mouse on any file 
  62. or folder.  FileNotes can be accessed by
  63. right clicking on any folder or file object
  64. on the system including the desktop and 
  65. file open dialog boxes.

  67. The notes that you create will follow 
  68. your files and folders when you copy
  69. them.  When you copy or move a file or 
  70. folder, the new files created will have 
  71. the same note as the original.

  73. When you use the Windows 95 Explorer to 
  74. delete a file, the note will follow the 
  75. file to the recycle bin so that if you 
  76. restore the file, the note will also be 
  77. restored.  This version will not preserve
  78. notes for folders that are sent to the 
  79. recycle bin.

  81. FileNotes includes the FileNotes Explorer 
  82. that allows you to quickly find, review, 
  83. add and update your notes.  The FileNotes 
  84. Explorer can be accessed from either the 
  85. Start | Programs menu or from the Windows 
  86. Explorer right click menu.
